Introductions
Welcome to poor man for president greetings and salutations, this blog is a response that to our current political and economic situations. While I do have a very strong proclivity to be involved as a republican somewhere to right of Rush Limbaugh I am very much toying with the idea of not voting or voting for a third party which I consider very close to a throw away vote. Most of what I see in the Republican party in general of late is not only disheartening it is downright disturbing. I have been voting republican since I was eighteen and have been conservative in my leanings since I can remember. The Logic of Capitalism and the free market are overwhelming as a system in enabling the people the freedom to pursue the life they choose. While all systems that have mankind as part of them are imperfect as mankind is flawed, this is the system that uses man's basic drives to drive the system. We as a nation have nodded our consent to a degrading or lessening of capitalism and freedom in the name of security. I am reminded of the quote from Ben Franklin that "those who would trade freedom for security deserve neither." Long ago we traded immediate fixes to long term problems and considered them fixed. As a nation and as a people we are living so far in debt that we can't even see the end of the problem we live in houses we can't afford surrounded by toys we did not earn and ask 'where is my bailout'. The sad thing is it is our supposed leaders that foster the idea that some one should be taking care of us, I almost expect such class envy from the thinly veiled socialistic Democratic party but when the nominee of the party of conservatism is calling for more money to be spent on "mainstreet not wallstreet" I get disgusted. Then we look at those around both nominees and you realize if you wanted to play the kevin bacon six degrees of separation game in the upper eschelaond of our society the same people are continuously running not only the multinational corporations that are being bailed out they also are running this sorry excuse for a government. So while I start to realize the elites of both so called partys have so little difference between them that you couldn't fit a sheet of paper between them those that work to make this nation work are not being protected from invasions of forces into their lives and are all to content to turn on the mindless entertainment that is being provided for them and fall back to sleep as soon as some sense of normalcy is returned. The ignorance and apathy of our nation is stagering as it is unavoidable. We have to long not had any real struggles and we consider the wealth that we take for granted a right that comes with being an American. We need leaders in the house senate and presidency that can express just plain common sense. It is shocking that a Rockstar(TED NUGENT) and an action star (CHUCK NORRIS) make more sense that anyone that has been in leadership of either major party for the past ten years.
